PB at Polly’s
Welcome, mate, to the first UBM Event for 2024
Before I explain what this PB at Polly’s Challenge entails, I think what’s most important is understanding why we’re doing this:
We’re doing this because you’ve joined this team to become the healthy, confident, and strong role model you want to be for yourself and those around you.
You’re trying to become Unbreakable.
A man who decides exactly what he wants and puts steps in place to create that outcome no matter what.
To be Unbreakable, we must become focussed on solutions to our problems and not on the problems themselves.
To be Unbreakable, we must have the courage to walk into the unknown, to take action on things that we cannot be certain will work in pursuit of our ultimate goals.
To be Unbreakable, we have to cultivate a deep sense of self-confidence that no matter what challenges we face, we will be able to overcome them, and we can only develop this by betting on ourselves and taking on those challenges.
This is a baby version of what we teach at The Unbreakable Man Retreat.
It’s about learning to deal with problems, unknowns, and challenges so we can better respond to and overcome, the negative chatter in our heads and, create the outcome we want, and repeat these results over and over again in our lives.
On Sunday, February 4th, you will have a chance to not only get a taste of that but also meet an entire team of like-minded men to take on this challenge with.
This will give you a chance to expand your social circle by including men who will support and encourage you to be the best man you can be.
SO WHAT DOES THIS CHALLENGE INVOLVE?
It involves meeting myself and the rest of the UBM Team at the beginning of Polly’s hiking trail circuit.
For this challenge we’re going to hit this 14km loop as hard as possible.
It’s a real test of endurance and mental strength because the hills here are no joke.
YOUR GOAL is to complete the loop in under 3.5 hours. That will make you eligible to join us for 1 of our 2 Mt Barney climb camping events on June 9th and August 25th this year.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
- Light, stretchy, and sporty clothing
- I will provide some water and snacks, but feel free to bring your own.
- A Camelbak or similar water bladder will make a big difference!
- Potentially a fresh set of clothes if you want to change afterwards
- A towel
- I’d recommend bringing some electrolytes
- And anyone who requires any form of medication (inhaler etc.), please bring that with you, as well as any braces/straps etc, for niggly joints.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THIS?
- THE MAIN THING is to be as injury-free as possible. This means stretching, recovery, and rehab of any key points between now and Sunday! Think of stretching routines, foam rolling, massage, ice baths, etc.
- Get a good night’s sleep on Saturday.
Lastly, do not forget…
Men aren’t born, they’re built.
